Yamunotri Tour Plan Ex Delhi

Day 01: Delhi - Rishikesh
From Delhi you will head towards Rishikesh. It is one of the spiritual cities of Uttarakhand situated on the banks of river Ganga. After check in at hotel you will step out to visit the city. The places you will visit include Laxman Jhulla, Ram Jhulla, Triveni Ghat, Bharat Mandir, Shivananda Ashram which includes Ganga Arti. After that you will step back to hotel to stay overnight.
Rishikesh: It is a spiritually famous city. As per its mythological story, Lord Rama did penance to kill the Asura King of Lanka, Ravan. There is one more story related to this, Lakshmana, the younger brother of Lord Ram crossed river Ganga using a jute rope exact on the point where Lakshman Jhula exist today.
Triveni Ghat: It is the place where one can witness the mesmerising Ganga Arti.
Bharat Mandir: This temple is dedicated to Bharat, younger brother of Lord Ram. It is believed that Rishi Rabhya did penance to at this place to impress Lord Vishnu. A magnificent Shree Yantra is also placed in the inner canopy of the temple.
Lakshman Jhula: it is the exact place where Lakshman crossed the river Ganga with the help of jute rope. Ram Jhula: Ram Jhula offers picturesque and mesmerising views even more than Lakshman Jhula.

Day 02: Rishikesh - Barkot
After having breakfast in Rishikesh we will drive towards Barkot. One the way we will also visit Mussoorie and its most famous Kempty Falls. We will have lunch in Kempty Falls because further there are no good restaurants available. Then we will directly move towards the hotel in Barkot to stay there overnight.
Barkot: One can get mesmerised by the beauty of this place which includes apple orchards surrounded by Himalayan range, panoramic view of snow capped mountains peaks of Bandar Poonch.

Day 03: Barkot - Yamunotri - Barkot
Next morning we will depart for Jankichatti/ Phoolchatt which is the commencement point of the trek to Yamunotri. After having the Darshan of the Yamunotri Temple we will return to Jankichatti to stay at hotel.
Tour Intro: There is a facility of horses or doli if one cannot go through walk. Devotees can cook rice and potatoes by packing it by a cloth and dip into the hot spring water of the Kund. And take that home as a ‘Prasad’. One can also offer prayers to Divyashila and have a bath in Jamunabai Kund.
Yamunotri Temple: Basically the temple was established by Adi Shankaracharya. The temple has been destroyed twice but was rebuilt by Amar Singh Thapa in 18th century and Maharani Gularia in 19th century.
Surya Kund: It is the most important kund among the many thermal springs situated in the vicinity of temple.
Divya Shila: It is the first point of worship before entering the main Temple.

Day 04: Barkot - Haridwar
After having breakfast you will drive towards Haridwar. After check in at hotel, if time allows you will visit Mansadevi Temple, Chandidevi Temple, Daksha Mahadev Temples & many others. At last you will go to har-ki-pauri to attend fascinating Ganga Arti. The evening view of the river is just a treat to watch.
Haridwar: The place is regarded as one of the seven holiest places of Hindus. The place is also called as Gangadwara because after flowing 254kms from its main source Gaumukh at the outskirts of Gangotri Glacier it enters the Indo-Gangetic Plains of North India for the first time at Haridwar. Being a sacred place there are lots of mythological stories related to this place.
Har ki Pauri/ Brahmakund According to mythological beliefs, it is the place where the elixir of life fell from the pitcher. It is also the venue of famous Kumbh Mela which is celebrated once in twelve years. Thousands of devotees visit this place every year to take a dip in the holy water of river Ganga. And the evening view of river enchants every devotee by its beautiful lightening floating ‘Diyas’.
Chandi Devi Temple This temple was constructed by Suchat Singh, the King of Kashmir in 1929. It is perched on a top of the hill named Neel Parvat, 3km away from Chandi Ghat. It is believed that the idol of goddess Chandi was established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. There is also the facility of cable car through which one can reach the main temple.
Mansa Devi Temple: The temple is dedicated to Mansa Devi and located on top of Bilwa Parvat. Devotees can choose from the options of reaching by foot or ropeway. Besides religious aspect the temple also offers panoramic view of the entire Haridwar.
Daksha Mahadev Temple: It is also known as the Daksheswara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed to be the exact place where Daksha performed ‘Yagya’. The temple is situated in the South of Kankhal.

Day 05: Haridwar - Delhi
Now your tour is about to finish. After having breakfast in Haridwar you will drive back towards Delhi where you will be dropped at the railway station or airport for your further journey.
