Kedarnath Yatra Intro

During this journey we will cover the places like Rishikesh, Devprayag, Guptkashi, Gaurikund, Shri Kedarnath Ji Temple, Phata, Rudraprayag, Srinagar, Haridwar


Kedarnath Yatra Plan Ex Haridwar

Day 01: Haridwar - Rishikesh
From Haridwar you will head towards Rishikesh. It is one of the spiritual cities of Uttarakhand situated on the banks of river Ganga. After check in at hotel you will step out to visit the city. The places you will visit include Laxman Jhulla, Ram Jhulla, Triveni Ghat, Bharat Mandir, Shivananda Ashram which includes Ganga Arti. After that you will step back to hotel to stay overnight.
Rishikesh: It is a spiritually famous city. As per its mythological story, Lord Rama did penance to kill the Asura King of Lanka, Ravan. There is one more story related to this, Lakshmana, the younger brother of Lord Ram crossed river Ganga using a jute rope exact on the point where Lakshman Jhula exist today.
Triveni Ghat: It is the place where one can witness the mesmerising Ganga Arti.
Bharat Mandir: This temple is dedicated to Bharat, younger brother of Lord Ram. It is believed that Rishi Rabhya did penance to at this place to impress Lord Vishnu. A magnificent Shree Yantra is also placed in the inner canopy of the temple.
Lakshman Jhula: it is the exact place where Lakshman crossed the river Ganga with the help of jute rope. Ram Jhula: Ram Jhula offers picturesque and mesmerising views even more than Lakshman Jhula.

Day 02: Rishikesh - Guptkashi
Then you will drive towards Guptkashi. On the way you can have a look of Mandakini which directly comes from Kedarnath. After reaching Guptkashi, you will check into hotel. Then in evening you will go to visit Ardhnareshwar Temple. After visiting that you will step back to hotel.
Guptkashi: Guptkashi believed to be the first place where Lord Shiva appeared when Panch Pandavas were searching him but later he disappeared and concealed himself at Kedarnath where the deity finally fulfilled the wish of Pandavas. It is the place where priests of Kedarnath live during winter season while Ukimath is the winter abode of the deity.

Day 03: Guptkashi - Kedarnath
As, it is not allowed to go on a trek with a bad medical condition, so one has to get a medical check up in Phata and then proceed to Sonprayag from where kedarnath is 17kms away. One can complete this trek by foot or he can also opt for ponies and doli. You will stay overnight at ANIM Tent Colony managed by Uttarakhand Government.
Kedarnath: It is one of the twelve most important shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva who is the destroyer of the world according to Hindu religion beliefs. The place has mythological belief that after the war of Kurukshetra, Panch Pandavas came here to see Lord Shiva and apologise for their mistake to kill their own brothers. But lord denied to meet them, converted himself into a bull and dived into the ground, leaving his hump visible. Other parts of the deity appeared at four different places such as Tungnath, Rudranath, Madhmaheshwar and Kalpeshwar which are collectively known as Panch Kedar.
Note: It is advisable to carry some important stuff like medicines, toiletries and heavy woollen clothes for an overnight halt at Kedarnath.

Day 04: Kedarnath - Rudraprayag
This day early morning you will step down from the Kedarnath Temple to Sonprayag from where you will drive towards Rudraprayag. There you will attend Sangam Arti nad then check into hotel, have a dinner and stay there overnight.

Day 05: Rudraprayag - Haridwar
After having breakfast you will drive towards Haridwar. After check in at hotel, if time allows you will visit Mansadevi Temple, Chandidevi Temple, Daksha Mahadev Temples & many others. At last you will go to har-ki-pauri to attend fascinating Ganga Arti. The evening view of the river is just a treat to watch. Evening you will be dropped at the railway station or airport for your further journey.
Haridwar: The place is regarded as one of the seven holiest places of Hindus. The place is also called as Gangadwara because after flowing 254kms from its main source Gaumukh at the outskirts of Gangotri Glacier it enters the Indo-Gangetic Plains of North India for the first time at Haridwar. Being a sacred place there are lots of mythological stories related to this place.
Har ki Pauri/ Brahmakund According to mythological beliefs, it is the place where the elixir of life fell from the pitcher. It is also the venue of famous Kumbh Mela which is celebrated once in twelve years. Thousands of devotees visit this place every year to take a dip in the holy water of river Ganga. And the evening view of river enchants every devotee by its beautiful lightening floating ‘Diyas’.
Chandi Devi Temple This temple was constructed by Suchat Singh, the King of Kashmir in 1929. It is perched on a top of the hill named Neel Parvat, 3km away from Chandi Ghat. It is believed that the idol of goddess Chandi was established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. There is also the facility of cable car through which one can reach the main temple.
Mansa Devi Temple: The temple is dedicated to Mansa Devi and located on top of Bilwa Parvat. Devotees can choose from the options of reaching by foot or ropeway. Besides religious aspect the temple also offers panoramic view of the entire Haridwar.
Daksha Mahadev Temple: It is also known as the Daksheswara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed to be the exact place where Daksha performed ‘Yagya’. The temple is situated in the South of Kankhal.
