Badrinath town located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state. Badrinath village is famous for Badrinath Temple. This is the most important of Chardham yatra and the last site of yatra. The town is gets its name for the temple of Badrinath. Badrinath temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is one of the 108 Divya Desams. Badrinath is major destination for pilgrims. The temple is located in Garhwal hill. Chardham yatra contains four sites - Yomunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. The temple is located between the Nar and Narayan mountain. This town is located at an elevation of 3,133 mts above the sea level. Adi Shankracharya discovered a black stone image of lord shiva made of Saligram stone in the Alakhnanda River. The king of gharwal moved the murti in the present temple. Badrinath is one of the panch badri and other four is Yogadhyan Badri, Bhavishya Badri, Old Badri and the Adi Badri.According to the legend,The Lord Vishnu is meditated at this place and his wife Goddess Laxmi made a berry tree to protect the Lord vishnu. The Statue of Lord Shiva in the temple is maditative pose. The beauty of temple is brightly painted facade,design.stone carving, 50 ft tall with golden colored cupola on top, covered with a golen gilt roof are highlight the temple.

Best Time to Visit Badrinath

Summer season: March to june is the pleasent and summer season starts here. During the season temprature is around 7 degree to 18 degree. This is the best time for sightseeing and pilgrimage.

Joshimath: Joshimath is the winter home of Shri Badrinath ji. The palki of Shri Badrinath ji was transfared to Joshimath during the winter season in Joshimath. It is located at a distance of 46 km from Badrinath. Joshimath is also connected with Auli by Highest cable car of Asia's.

Adi Badri: The Adi badri temple is dedicated to lord Vishnu. It is located at a distance of 17 km from Karnaprayag. The temple has a black stone idol of Lord Narayana. Adi Badri was founded by Adi Guru Shankracharya.

Auli: situated at a distance of 56 km from Badrinath. Auli is a best skiing destination located in India. Auli is well connected to Joshimath with Cable car. This cable car is world's longest and heights cable car connected with Joshimath to Auli.
